Hand Sanitizers and COVID-19
We’ve all been vigorously washing our hands and using more hand sanitizer than usual, and for good reason! Please keep washing your hands and using hand sanitizer so we can flatten the curve of COVID-19 together. A good hand sanitizer capable of killing the broadest range of pathogens would contain 60 - 85% ethanol or 60 - 80% isopropanol. With frequent and prolonged use, some of these ingredients may dry out your skin leading to over dryness, discomfort, and even cracks in the skin. Putting alcohol on cracked skin is not pleasant. Soap and water are the best options for cleaning your hands during this crisis, but if you can't access soap and water, you can use a hand sanitizer to get rid of germs quickly.
Did You Know?
When hand sanitizers first became popular they were made with Triclosan, which actually did more damage than good and that's why the FDA banned it in 2016. Since then, hand sanitizers have been reformulated and are now widely used during cold and flu season and for outdoor enthusiasts who may not have access to soap and water.
Moisturize After You Sanitize
To help alleviate dryness, consider using a moisturizer after sanitizing your hands. A good hand cream, infused with hemp extract is beneficial for soothing dry, cracked hands, and alleviating the discomfort caused by overuse of hand sanitizers.
We recommend our premium grade GRN Hemp Lotion in Coconut, Lavender, or Mint scents. 250mg of hemp extract in each 2 oz jar.
